Norway have been putting their Oil money aside for the past 30 years, There are barely 30 years of Scottish Oil left. Norway retained control of all of their oil deposits and therefore could reap maximum reward from it in the form of a sovereign wealth fund, This was 30 years ago Scotland is long by the point of being able to do this and even if it was possible now it would not return even a fraction of the money that Norway has earned.
Norwegian Oil revenue in was 4 times what Scottish Revenue was, Yet we have the same comparable population. This doesn't really mean anything and is a common Oil is oil, it's all the same. However, the US has a lot of fancy and cheap refineries. So, a lot of countries will export their oil to the US for refining. It isn't that the US needs more oil, it just makes everyone more money, we get business refining other people's oil, and other people get their oil refined for cheap. In reality, the US produces roughly the same amount of oil as it consumes, but because of how trade works, we export about half of what we produce, and simply import about half of what we need.
I would imagine that the UK has something similar going on. It doesn't really mean anything besides that it makes more money to import oil and gas from Norway. The US imports most of it's oil too, but it doesn't have to. I would imagine that the UK has some amazing refineries, and that's why you see so many imports despite such a huge production cough BP cough.
Norway has far more social services than the UK, as Scandinavian countries tend to be. Significantly lower purchasing power parity, more social services, similar standard of living. Scotland have been trying to get away from England ever since. Considering the next column will be about vaginal dryness and the EU, I think this is all a farce. Basically, the English have said that they can't have the pound. Scotland have said that they can, but if it came down to it, they would create a new currency.

However if they joined the EU they may have to take up the euro. They may, though it's very unlikely, join Scandinavia and take up the kroner or however it's spelt. I dun goofed with Scandinavian currencies. My bad, learn something everyday. It's clever and informative. Now I know what's the deal with Scotland independence. Yes Voters should have paid movie theaters to air Braveheart the week prior to elections. It may sound stupid but it would probably eek out a few votes here and there.

Maybe its because I'm American, but don't British taxes go to Scottish things too? Isn't that how taxes work? Like, my taxes cover things I don't like, nor benefit from. I'm all for freedom, but I can't see this as a legit reason, unless it's significantly at the cost of Scottish things. I'm looking for a Scottish opinion here, not just to be told I'm wrong. Is nobody else surprised that she openly admitted to eventually 'involuntarily' finding satisfaction elsewhere?!
