    Dating Divas Easter

Being good at it might be a little too generous. Did I really need another journal entry about dishes and laundry and baby snot on my clothes? Wait, what day was it when my beautiful little niece was born again?! And how much did the doctor say my youngest weighed at his well-baby check up last week?

And, you know what, the dishes, laundry and baby snot DOES matter. Because keeping my family fed and clothed IS important. Having a physical list of my accomplishments helps me have the motivation to do it all again the next day. Part of my struggle was time. And filling only three lines in my journal was kind of depressing.

However, I seemed to have stumbled on something that works! I first saw a similar idea on a Flickr feed. I totally fell in love with the idea. THIS I can do! Eleven months down and I only missed a week plus a couple days. It looks so neat and only takes a couple minutes a day usually right before I go to bed. The limited space is just what I need. Some times, I write in it while I brush my teeth at night. Super quick, super easy. And, if I do miss a couple days, I can go back pretty easily and fill it in.

But I was able to get it all filled in before I forgot everything and my calendar still looks awesome. It is a one-time, single instant download with all 12 months. Another nice thing about the PDF packet is that you will be able to print the pages back-to-back all at one time.

Each month also has extra space to write down additional notes.

I never got around to binding my pages, they are all still just loose papers, as you can see in the photos above. Some binding ideas are: You could put them in a three-ring binder, bind them with tape and glue or sew them together. I now do my calendar journal in my planner. I used the Mom on the Go Planner from leafytreetops. I love the weekly spread where each day is split into three columns. I use the bottom box to do my calendar journal and the top boxes are my appointments and to-dos.

Any blank calendar or planner would work though. Happy holiday wishes coming at ya! So, when the calendar gets around December 8th, I find myself struggling to keep up with the fun we started just a week before. I totally get that! This year I plan to just point my kids to this countdown. Of course, we have some Christmas traditions that I look forward to every year. But, not having an activity assigned to every single day means I can relax more. This countdown was designed with busy families in mind.

This easy Christmas Countdown Chain will help you because:. But, what about the traditions you DO want to keep? So, now you get to customize your chain in whatever way best fits YOUR family. Use whichever Easy Christmas Countdown fits into your schedule better — or — combine the two! My kids will be in school until 3 days before Christmas, so we will have to keep up our school routine during the week. Weekends will be our best bet, so those days will get an activity link and we can make sure our favorite traditions make it into our schedule.

When I said this is simple, I really meant it will take you about 20 minutes to put together. You already know there are two versions of the chain the one with the daily countdown and the other one with the activities , but each version of the Easy Christmas Countdown Chain is also available in color and in monochrome.

This is meant to help you save ink by printing on colored paper instead of on white paper. Or in case you only have a monochrome printer I dream of upgrading to a color laser printer someday. So, just be aware of that when we download your chosen files. Print the Easy Christmas Countdown Chain links. For two colors, page 1 and page 3 should be the same.

EVEN YOU HAVE TIME TO JOURNAL WITH A CALENDAR JOURNAL

Take the first chain link and bend it until the ends overlap and the strip forms and circle. Secure with glue, tape or a staple. Repeat the process with each chain link, slipping the new link through the previous one and creating a chain. I hope this makes counting down to Christmas with your family simpler.

And I hope you have a very Merry Christmas with your family, making memories and having fun together. I always have grand ideas for November. You know, things like getting Christmas planned, reminding my children to be thankful with our Gratitude Jar, and maybe even decorating our home a little.
