I'd have a bigger problem with the actual ages than with the class of the individuals. You also will have freshmen who had been held back in elementary who are older than the other freshmen. My girls aren't allowed to date until at least 16 and their dates have to be their age group. I wouldn't support a year-old dating an year-old. I did exactly that when I was in high school, I was 14 he was We got caught and he got charged. I felt horrible, we both knew the risks but we did it anyway It definitely stunted his life having to register.

I think in a situation like this the age is complicated..

Because there is the assumed "maturity" of high school and each grade seems equivalent taking class with one another it's hard to keep the separation. I would interfere with the relationship to the extent of ending it because the older individual will lose everything consensual or not. I would not call the police but definitely convince them from it. One of the many reasons I was grateful that our school system had grades as junior high and was high school. It eliminated that issue. But I was a junior, dating a senior.

I was 16 and he was 19 started school late and was held back a year. He was a good kid and both our parents were ok with it after a big, and embarrassing at the time, meet and greet. My HS was very small and news spread about a senior boy dating a freshman girl. Most were turned off by the mere suggestion but I clearly remember one of the male teachers pulling him aside and telling him that it was wrong and would only lead to trouble.

Here they have a law the protects such relationships. Our school mascot was the Trojan and other schools called our cheerleaders the marching mothers because without fail at least 1 of the cheerleaders falls pregnant every year. There's also some rumor about our school having the highest birthdate for students nationwide. I really couldn't support that she gap. There is such a tremendous difference in development and maturity. An 18 year old should be preparing to go off to college or enter the job market.

A 13 year old should be drinking juice boxes and swooning over Justin Beiber. If it were my daughter or son I would not allow it. In my opinion an 18 year old man should not be interested in a 13 year old girl. Followed up with strict rules for my child. I think that the age difference would be a little too much If you feel she's worth the wait, try waiting until after her graduation to make things more serious. I know a girl who is a high school sophomore dating a college sophomore.

It's a crazy thing but as long as you are in love age that little of a difference doesn't matter. I know tons of people who have dated much younger.

I don't see it as weird at all and if you like the girl i would not let people thoughts influence your decision about the way you feel. The highschooler will be in college in one year anyway. Don't stress, not weird! The only problem is turning 21 and the stress of being in two different places in life.

Right now, you are worried that......

Why do almost all women like getting choked? Also if you ask her and she just declines you, then just shrugg it off with a "awn However, I'm not really thinking about changing the subject if she declines. If she declines, I would just be like "Alright, that's okay. I have to go now, bye" and walk away. Well, I recommend changing subjects because this way you wont come off as "talking to her for pure interest", and she will think that its just nice that you guys are in good terms.

However, if she does go out to tell her friends about it, why would you me ashamed? You had the courage that other people didnt had and you didnt really did or said something shameful I am guessing you are a teenager years or something, because its normal to feel that way when you are new to the "relationship game". Just don't worry, just because she declined you, it doesnt mean it something bad, or the end of your social life. Be proud of it! However, if you just shrug it off and be confident about it, it will probably make she think twice before definately ditching you.

I can tell that from experience. Confidence is a major factor when dealing with other people, especialy when you are asking someone out for a date! Now, you are free to do whatever you want, but be aware that what I am saying comes from pure experience, so thats why I am recommending you that. If she declines, I will say "Alright, no problem [name]. Anyways, what are your plans for the Winter Break?

If she accepts, I will say "That's great. Thanks for accepting the offer! We should buy the prom tickets ASAP before they go out.
