To take full advantage of the comfort of an RV, these are the campsites you want. There is a downside however.

This campsite typically offers power and water hook-ups but forgoes the sewer hook-up. A lot of times, this can lead to a bit more space and nature and many campgrounds offer pump service for an extra charge. Lots of varied sizes lots. All have a fire pit and picnic table. Washrooms were close by and there was a sink for cleaning dishes.

Reservations essential for high season. All of Death Valley is scenic, and so is this campground.

Trailer Village RV Park

The lots are very spacious and you've got your own fire pit and picknick table. It's one big desert more or less with some trees and bushes around for shade. We were there in April, so the temperatures were okay and not near as hot as in spring or summer. It was great and sunny though. The location is great if you're traveling on to Las Vegas, since it's only a 2,5 hour drive.

It's also pretty close to Zabrisky point and Badwater Basin. The campground itself is basic, and there's no power or water at most lots, but that's the whole deal of camping, right? Of course there are some spots with electricity, but not a lot. Even though we got there at 3 pm all of the sites with electricity were taken.

At that time the rest of the campground was more or less empty. So reserve in advance if possible! Besides the power, there are washrooms close to every lot, some providing clean drinking water.

In April the office wasn't even opened and we had to purchase our campground ticket at a ticket machine. That worked well enough. The scenery is stunning though.

Sitting in the middle of Death Valley with mountains all around with the sun setting is just amazing. It's simple, but its great being so. It doesn't feel too touristy.
