The base is the only employer in the area so most young singles tend to move away after getting their AA. Additionally, since the flex schedule is mandatory on base, every other weekend is a 3-day weekend and Ridgecrest is centrally located between skiing, beaches, LA, Vegas, etc.
DR Quite frankly, I've been here 6 months and I'm already looking to leave because I'd like to get married before my 30s but if I was married, the distance from my extended family is really the only negative thing for me.

I had to leave because it was hard to find a decent job unless you a knew someone or b served, and I didn't know the right people and I've never been in the military.
