I am feeling I am no longer doing well on my Job and I felt I was putting myself in a place where I don't belong. This is massive skill mismatch. I plan to resign now. But I don't know how to do it.

Flexible end date in resignation letter?

I only got 15 days before the end of my probationary period. At first, a month before, I was told I didn't pass the metric to retain regularization along with other people but they can do something about it if I can push a little bit further by skyrocketting the require metrics.

It is a huge blow and another thing happened I was given a memo for my tardiness due to the fact I was late because of unpredictable traffic on our country. I cannot do it. I can't make it. I don't know how to address my resignation to my boss. I was thinking maybe I should invite my boss for a private meeting and tell him "it is about something important" and tell him thereafter that I plan to leave thus "surprise! Also, I would like a letter that doesn't give off period of notice. I want it to be flexible.

Since I just got only 15 days and we are required to give 30 day notice or else I have to pay for damages It was very vague on the handbook and I want to ask questions about this during interview. But I think I can negotiate to waiver that because my reason would be that I can't make it because I am not fit for the job. Can I just say to the letter that my final day of work would be this x-day?

SHould I just wait and hope no sanction came on me or should I already leave? Unless it is pre-negotiated you will stay until they train your replacement kind of thing or a top administrator , you can't resign without a fixed date. If you are still in your probationary period and don't think you will be asked to stay it should be pretty easy to say to your boss and write in a resignation letter "After careful consideration I feel that this has not been a good match and I do not plan to continue after my probationary period".

Give the required notice of 30 days. They may ask you to go ahead and leave sooner but you can't then be penalized for not giving proper notice. Better do it quickly before they inform you they aren't keeping you. That would equal a termination. AndyRising in a State of Bliss.

If you are happy in your role but leaving to pursue a better opportunity then use one of the softer openings. In any event, if you respect your manager, you will have dropped by his or her office to break the news in person and explain the reasons why you are leaving.

The letter should be more for HR purposes. Just keep the conversation friendly.
