WANT TO FLAG THIS?
The next day, Jang Mi and Gi Tae sit in the car. Jang Mi thinks about their handhold from the night before and what Yeo Reum told her. But why am I feeling so unsettled? They reach the house and Gi Tae opens the car door for her, so that she can stand under his umbrella. Jang Mi asks mom if the ring really has a special meaning to her and mom says that of course it does, so Jang Mi needs to treat it preciously as well. Jang Mi storms out, Gi Tae follows after her and mom goes to her room to let it out. Jang Mi cries some more outside but once Gi Tae arrives, she wipes her tears away and puts on a smile.
At those words, Gi Tae just hugs her even more tightly with both arms. They break apart and grandma asks about what they were just talking about. Go, go, go Jang Mi!
Marriage, Not Dating Episode 10 Recap
Finally, our outspoken, sassy, honest, lovable and alcoholic heroine is back! She asked Gi Tae to explain what the kiss meant but sadly, Gi Tae was too much of a wimp to tell her that he likes her but at least this episode gives us A LOT of movement in the desired direction. At least her tearful inquiry led to something pretty amazing.
The moment Gi Tae poured his heart out to Jang Mi was precious.

He allowed himself to be vulnerable in her presence. And then what was even more amazing about that scene was when Jang Mi went up to him and just quietly held his hand. I was legit swooning! Just as the fortuneteller said, Jang Mi is basically heaven sent. Any guy worthy enough to win her heart should think himself lucky. Even Gi Tae has changed the way he interacts with Jang Mi in this episode. He has become a lot softer and teasing towards Jang Mi. This family seriously needs someone as authentic and human as Jang Mi.
Her motives and actions are always to look out for his best interests and to protect him. I love the juxtaposition between the kiss they had in episode 6 and the hug from this episode. Although a kiss usually signifies a more intense display of emotion, this hug definitely felt more personal. This time around, Gi Tae gave into his feelings and pulled her in tight with BOTH arms, with no intent of letting her go. Something someone would to soothe their loved ones. I want them to have a fresh start and not just slide into a relationship.

They need to consciously make the decision to become a real couple now. We all knew she was a manipulative witch but she seriously has a ridiculously high tolerance for shit that her so-called husband pulls.
Marriage Not Dating: Episode 12 » Dramabeans Korean drama recaps
How can she wear a ring that was intended for another woman? And not any ring, a ring that was meant to be for a marriage proposal. Who is happy with this arrangement?
Mom is so worried about protecting these material aspects that she has forgotten one of the most important things that make up a family: Gi Tae just wanted to protect her but she just wanted to maintain the image of a perfect family. This is why he has difficulty trusting and loving another person.
How sad was it that even in the privacy of her own room, she tries to muffle her cries? Mom was selfish and even wanted to push Se Ah on Gi Tae for her connections. Mom only thinks about how her future daughter-in-law can benefit the family. She should know how unhappy a person becomes when they are stuck in a loveless marriage.
I actually do feel bad for Yeo Reum in this episode. When you know that something is slowly leaving you, you try to hold on tighter. Also, I just wanted to say how lucky Hyun Hee is to have met a decent guy. Unlike Jang Mi, she wants to quit working as soon as she finds herself a good catch.

However, I am now very interested to find out what her family situation is. Hooray thanks for the recap! Been refreshing for days heh. I really enjoyed your insights for this episode and totally agree with you about the hug — it felt very real somehow. This episode was just a winner. Cannot wait for Friday! I love this show!
He is so immature, I think that was the only way. But talking about sincerity, she's still sincere in her loving him for money. Was it in Cheongdamdong Alice? Her personality is quite apt to the superficiality of Hoon Dong. I won't be surprised too if Se-ah will ask YR instead for the sperm later on, hahaha.
T only thing that bothered me was her chucking her phone into the pond. I think he is shallow and totally immature. He was also a dick the way he treated JM. He was likely quite sweet w her or else she might not have gone as far as preparing that big proposal? So I don't feel any sympathy for him in ending up in this other girl's lap.
But to say to a really drunk guy: I am a bad girl; is that ok? Well, that is all kinds of unethical in my book. Is it rape or is it a trap? Diff viewers would see it differently. But I distinctly recall the part where HH found out JM tried to tell HD to stay away from her and she got hot and bothered, saying that she wanted to find a way out of her salesgirl job, that she hoped their sleeping together would lead to sth more, n why is JM trying to prevent HD from seeing her, etc. I must have missed the part where she came to like him for himself. If a woman would have been that drunk and talked into sex a majority here would have screemed 'Rape!
There is no consent under influence. Park Shi Hoo's case proved the point. I have a real problem for that situation to not be seen as "rape". I agree with Newbie, there is absolutely no consent under influence.
It's like the writers are really trying to avoid the situation now.. I get its a rom com but I rather something happens to hh at least.. If the shoe were on the other foot and Hyun hee was a man who plied a woman with drinks only to get her drunk enough to sleep with her, no one would have a problem calling it rape. It's because Hyun hee is a woman that there are qualms calling it what it is. And it IS rape, very akin to date rape when you slip someone a roofie only to render them incoherent and unable to give full consent to the act of sex.
This kind of gender bias truly does drive me bonkers and I'm a woman. The same standard for men should be applied to women as well. I hear people excusing Hyun hee because they say she was sincere to Hoon Dong, but let me put it another way. Would Hoon Dong have slept with Hyun hee if he weren't stack raving drunk? Obviously not, as he wasn't interested in her like that.
He still had Jang mi on his mind.
