I saw romantic stuff between the two couples in games. Are you sure you want to delete this answer? Well, they're supposed to be paired together. Though I don't think the games actually address this, fans seem to think it was implied so now Peach and Mario are a couple, as are Daisy and Luigi. Personally, I don't think there is anything happening between those 4 but I'm not exactly sure.
I do know that they are one of the very first characters in Mario. Mario and peach have been on since In the opening of Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour , Daisy and Peach can be heard calling " Luigi " and " Mario " respectively, to summon the brothers to "tea-time". Luigi responds to the summons with an " Okie-dokie! The opening then goes on to show Daisy and Luigi golfing alongside Mario and Peach.
