So in my case I can't posibly even imagine her in a romantic way, but I have to admit, if we hadn't met like that, I probably could see her in a romantic way since honestly, third cousins are really far away generically speaking. I think the only problem with dating a cousin independent of how close they are too you is of you considered them family before considering them as a romantic interest, for example I have a "cousin" who isn't actually related to me at all but I've always known him as my cousin so he's family, and you don't date family.

If she's uncomfortable, respect that and break up. Your "research" means nothing basically. Third cousin is literally nothing. First cousins mean you share the same grandparents. Second cousins means you share the same great-grandparents. And third cousins means your grandparents shared the same grandparents, or were first cousins. Third cousins once removed means that either your parent is her third cousin, or her parent is your third cousin.
